Rowland Heights Day at the Fair
Friday, Sept. 8, 2017
Fairplex, home of the Los Angeles County Fair, has long been a proud partner throughout the community. This year on Friday, September 8, Rowland Heights will be honored as the first unincorporated community to have its own special day! In addition to all that LA County Fair has to offer, Rowland Heights Day will feature a day planned by members of the Rowland Heights Community and will include:
- Community Days parade
- High school marching band competition
- Community Hero awards ceremony
We hope that you’ll join us as the LA County Fair honors the community of Rowland Heights.
Community Heroes work tirelessly to make a difference. The LA County Fair seeks to honor very special individuals – adult, young adult (under the age of 18) and senior – with a Community Hero presentation to take place on your community’s Day at the Fair!
This is your chance to nominate a deserving individual whom you feel is an unsung hero, contributing to the betterment of your community! Selected heroes will be honored throughout the day with a reception, onstage presentation and a parade.
Submission deadline is Saturday, July 1, 2017
FairKids and Big Yellow Bus Programs
The members of the Rowland Heights Community Committee work to raise money for the FairKids Field Trip and Big Yellow Bus Programs that bring Rowland Heights students to the LA County Fair to enjoy a variety of interactive, educational experiences, all of which meet California educational standards.
Through the Big Yellow Bus Partnership Program and the fundraising efforts of the Rowland Heights Community Committee, you can give the precious gift of interactive fun and hands-on learning to students in the Rowland Heights Community. For only $5 per child you can help the Rowland Heights Community Committee bring a student to the FairKids Field Trip Program.
